Take the track less travelled to seclusion, sea life and surf at Quobba and Gnaraloo.
Just 140 kilometres up the coast from Carnarvon lies the most secluded stretch of UNESCO World Heritage listed Ningaloo Reef – the largest and most accessible fringing reef on Earth. The sheer biodiversity of this pristine area makes it a top spot for snorkelling and fishing, but there are huge lures here for those in search of world-class surfing, kite surfing or windsurfing too.

- A four-wheel-drive is recommended, but you can opt to take your own two-wheel-drive vehicle.
- Many roads to and within the national parks are now sealed, or suitable for 2WD vehicles.
- Unsealed roads within the national parks are not suitable for caravans, large buses or motor homes and may be closed to all vehicle access during wet times of the year (February to April). Check Park, Trail and Road Closures alerts for the latest updates.
