Thelma Retreat Garden And Teahouse

Thelma Retreat is a secluded country garden (0.8 hectare, two acres) six kilometres south of Dover. Enhanced by the natural bushland backdrop this garden is full of colour and fragrance many months of the year. Roses, lavender, lilies, bulbs, flowering shrubs, blossom and autumn colouring trees blend together with textures of foliage plants. This provides a home for many small birds including blue wren, robin redbreast, finches, honeyeaters and more. Devonshire teas, breakfast and lunches are served in the garden and cosy teahouse. Organic flour,ground in the teahouse kitchen, is used to bake scones, bread and cakes which are on our menu. A comfortable one bedroom apartment is also available for an overnight or longer stay. You can visit the garden Sunday 1230 - 1700, Monday to Thursday 0900 - 1700, August through to May. Take a walk with your camera, capture the colours, then drink in the fragrance of roses while enjoying the wholesome cooking of the teahouse kitchen. After being refreshed in this peaceful garden a 20 minute drive further south takes you to the Ida Bay railway and Hastings Caves and Thermal Pool.
