This ground-breaking exhibition considers how Australian artists have incorporated birds in their work to explore stories of our environment, history and identity.
Developed by MPRG, Birds comprises 70 works including painting, photography, print-making, sculpture and decorative arts by artists John Lewin, Sydney Long, Hans Heysen, Albert Tucker, Arthur Boyd, Rover Thomas, Fiona Hall, Petrina Hicks, Ben Quilty, Kate Rohde, Christian Thompson, Louise Weaver, John Wolseley and many others.
Add a black bird to the flock in Juan Ford’s work, visit the pigeon ‘club house’ and check out Kenny Pittock’s specially commissioned colouring book about birds on the Mornington Peninsula.
